It seems the article about ONA has been published in the December ‘08 issue of Linux Journal. You’ll find it on page 42 in the “Fresh from the Labs” column by John Knight. I assume some of you are here because of that article, and I welcome you! The article is a good introduction that the tool exists but of course does not cover all of the details that the tool has to offer. Please check out the demo, the list of features, or post something in the forum. I’ve recently made a lot of progress with the DNS and DHCP configuration build scripts so stay tuned for those to be released. There are several other nice tools to check out as well. Yes, I’m still here. I noticed its been awhile since I’ve posted an update. It seems strange though, I thought that I had posted an update when I made the last release. Either I lost it or I just plain didnt post it. Ohh well, I’m here to say that things are still going pretty well on ONA.

I’ve been spending the most recent weeks on some cosmetic changes that I’d like to put online. They are not going as well as I had hoped but maybe I’ll get them in sometime.

I have been getting a lot done, however, with some backend things. These are the important things like DNS and DHCP configuration build scripts and a Cisco device configuration backup tool. I’ve got a few people who are gearing up for some testing, and I hope that others might be interested in testing and giving feedback as well. If you are, please email me to inquire about testing the code.

One last thing, I want to encourage everyone who has even a little interest in this project to help out. Documentation, testing etc are something that I could use help with. Also, just send me an email and let me know how the tool is doing for you and what thoughts you have on it. The more interaction and encouragement I get from you the more it drives me to work on the project. Post in the forum or just email me directly here. Thanks!
